Licenses are annual, renewable subscriptions. barKoder offers Enterprise and Consumer licensing packages, depending on the type and audience of the app. For a consumer-facing app, more devices or a custom deployment, request a personalized quote.
Your plan covers a number of devices. The SDK registers a device only when it actually scans, so test installs and idle app starts don't use up your license pool.
When you buy a plan, you receive a production license key. It works only with the app ID it was generated for. You add it to the SDK configuration in place of your trial key.

Yes. The free trial is valid for 25 devices for 30 days, with unlimited scans and no credit card required. Each trial key can be generated once per app ID. To extend a trial, create an account in the barKoder Developer Portal.
A device counts once it initializes the SDK and scans at least one barcode. Reinstalling the app on the same device doesn't use another license, and devices that initialize without scanning are cleared every 24 hours. In the Web SDK, barKoder counts unique browser clients, so one user in Chrome and Firefox counts twice. See how barKoder SDK licensing works.
Each plan covers 1 App (Mobile or Web), and a production license key works only with the app ID it was generated for. For several apps, or for OEM, white-label or redistribution use, request a personalized quote.
Devices registered before you reached the limit keep full results. After a 30-day grace period, new devices get (Unlicensed) results until you upgrade your subscription. Read how the license key works.
Only for license checks. The SDK checks the key with the barKoder licensing server when the app initializes it, and scans locally on the device. With a standard license, each device must reach the server at least once every 30 days to keep returning licensed results. For segregated networks with no internet access, licenses that work without the server are available on custom terms. The SDK doesn't store any personal information retrieved from scanning a barcode.
