Happy New Year from barKoder – Powering Smarter Scanning in 2026
2025 A Year of Progress & Precision
As the year comes to a close and we move through this season of Christmas, the New Year, and all the holidays that invite us to pause and reflect, I wanted to take a moment to look back on what 2025 meant for barKoder, and to say thank you.
This year wasn’t about chasing headlines or shipping features for the sake of shipping. It was about doing the hard, sometimes unglamorous work of making scanning better where it actually matters, in real environments, with real constraints, and real users depending on it.
Throughout 2025, our focus stayed clear. We worked to make scanning faster, smarter, and more reliable, especially when conditions weren’t perfect. Barcode, VIN, MRZ, and VIN OCR scanning all saw meaningful improvements, helping teams decode samples that were blurred, damaged, poorly lit, or simply difficult. These weren’t lab wins. They came from real use cases and real feedback.
We also spent a lot of time listening.
Developers told us where integrations were painful, where flexibility was missing, and where control mattered most.
In response, we expanded SDK customization, added more configuration options, and made it easier for teams to shape barKoder around their workflows instead of the other way around. Stability and performance remained a constant priority, because when scanning sits at the heart of an operation, it has to be something you don’t worry about.
One of the things I’m most proud of this year is how directly customer feedback influenced our roadmap. Feature requests, edge cases, and tough deployment scenarios shaped the product in ways we simply couldn’t have planned in isolation. barKoder is better today because of that collaboration.
In 2025, we also expanded support for new symbologies, including MaxiCode and Postal Barcodes, and took important steps forward as a company by becoming an official GS1 US Solution Provider and GS1 Germany Solution Provider. These milestones matter to us because they reflect trust, standards, and long-term commitment, not just growth.
We continued pushing forward with Augmented Reality, bringing scanned data directly into the user’s field of view, and with VIN OCR scanning, tuned for real-world conditions where samples are rarely clean or ideal. These are areas where we see scanning evolving from a simple action into a richer, more useful experience.
Teams across logistics, automotive, travel, retail, and other industries chose barKoder this year because integrations were fast, scanning was dependable across devices, and support was there when it was needed. That trust is something we don’t take lightly.
Looking ahead to 2026, we’re not slowing down. We’re doubling down on intelligent decoding, deeper customization, faster iteration, and performance where it truly counts. There’s a lot more to build, and we’re excited about where this is going.
